When I had my own space, I worked out every day. Played Dance Dance Revolution, turned up the stereo, bounced around the apartment like a bunny on uppers. If that ever got old, there was never any shortage of fad workouts for me to try out.
Now we live in a tent. In a 24-hour Quiet Zone. I can't even listen to the radio. We have a common room, but it's a little too common, you know? Pretty much the only time it's empty is between 3-5am, when sane people are sleeping. So there's really nothing stopping me from working out then, but it is rather inconvenient.
Then it occurred to me. Here I am getting cabin fever in the midst of hundreds of miles of wilderness. Privacy. Space. Oh, and unless the rangers speak squirrel, I don't have to worry about anyone lodging a complaint. Of course, I can't play DDR in the woods, but hey. I'm about ready to take what I can get. So I scouted out a couple spots within 20 minutes walk of my tent, with enough flat ground, out of sight of the main trail.
I went to one today, took it for a test drive, so to speak.
Have I ever mentioned that I hate boy scouts?
No, I will not be your entertainment for this evening. Blech.
Try again later . . .

ETA: This will probably be my last post for a few days. I'll be at work all weekend and won't have my computer. Plus I plan on hiking to work again this weekend. It's a 4 hour round trip, added onto a 12 hour shift, so there goes my day. I'll miss y'all!

Re: What do you do for a living??

I work in Yosemite National Park. I live in a tent-cabin and I commute up to Glacier Point for work. It's not a hard job to get. It's a fairly long application process, but if you're interested, you can apply in February or so for next summer. It is wonderful, being surrounded by trees, having hiking trails that start practically at my front door. I do occasionally miss civilization, though. I don't know what I'd do without this computer. Oh, I guess the same thing I did for three months before I gave in and bought a laptop . . .
I'm sorry you're working at a job you hate. There aren't many things worse than that.
Hugs and smiles back! You're so sweet.
