Road Trip the Second?

Hi All! Remember how I said I really liked working from home? Well, my boss just called and told me to stop working for a week so that he can catch up with everything I've sent him recently. Unpaid time off... yay?

Some of you may remember that I am crazy I took a solo road trip a few years back and visited a few of my f-listers. I am thinking about taking the rest of this week to pick up my car in Florida (yeah, don't ask) and drive it back to Cali. I will either be going through Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, OR Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada. I just wanted to put that out there in case any of you were willing to put up with me put me up for a night on the way? I wouldn't be able to spend a day anywhere but on the road, but we could at least share a meal and chat a bit.

ETA: Heck, if anyone wants to drive with me to/from any point, I can always fly you back... when I tire of you.

ETA the Second: Ok, so this is not happening this week. I'm now looking at making the trip Saturday, November 8th, which would give me an extra couple days' leeway in case I get lost/hit traffic/break down/am abducted by aliens. I would plan on reaching Kansas City by Monday night, Denver by Wednesday night, and Sonoma by Saturday 11/15. Let me know if that works and I'll book a flight!

That works for me! I have a concert in Boulder on Tuesday, 11/11, but if you arrive on Wednesday, 11/12 it should be just fine. And the weather shouldn't give you a problem in early November. Also, from KC I believe you can drive through Nebraska/ Wyoming instead of Kansas. Eeeee~!!!!

The Luxor in what city?

Oh sorry, the Luxor is a casino in Las Vegas. I'm always going to southern Cali so I take I-70 through Utah, down I-15 (?) through St. George and on to LV. Thats a long day, about 12 hours but it's beautiful. You could stop in St. George too, there is a hotel right off the highway with a decently lit parking lot, I've napped there before.

I don't mind if you take the private room, but I do want to get together. What sort of refreshments should I bring?

Yes, if I can stay with Aelora on Monday then I'll swing by Wichita to fetch you... Would you be flying back to Wichita, then? Or OKC? Of course, we could ask Ae if she could stand to have you visit again already, and meet there. I don't know how far that is for you.

Don't worry too much about the finances. Just be prepared to live on protein bars and energy drinks if you can't afford to chip in for real food. ;)

look into flights. if they are much cheaper to kansas city, i'll drive up there monday...tammy will just have to deal with me for a night. ;p otherwise, wichita is where my car would be. that way you wouldn't have to drive quite so far south to pick me up. =D

It's pretty much the same as far as airfare is concerned. The advantage of KC is Aelora, obviously. I just found out that she's off on Tuesday the 11th.

I may actually have time to drive to OK, if you wanted to show off your place. I don't suppose those horses are for riding...?

Either way, I would be flying you back on Sunday the 16th, yes? Sunday is the most expensive day to fly to OKC for some reason. Otherwise, Sunday or Monday - it makes no difference to me (I will have to work on Monday, though, so I would probably be dropping you off at the aiport for a super early flight.

wait so you would drive to oklahoma before kansas city or after? and if i was going to fly into oklahoma (because you came to oklahoma to get me) i could fly into tulsa or okc, i'd have to have a friend pick me up either way.

I would go there before Kansas City. So, I'd be there Sunday night and we'd leave for KC on Monday. I'll bring warm clothes anyway (thanks for reminding me). OKC would definitely be cheaper than Tulsa, but how far is that from you? Which is closer?

they are both about the same distance from me. so if okc is cheaper than that is fine. so we'd be leaving here monday? and i would be flying home monday? is that right?
