Those of you who have actually seen American Idol, I could really use some tips and tricks here. If you are thinking about giving me a hard time about auditioning for a show which I have adamantly refused to watch, it's been done, but feel free. As long as you throw in some helpful advice while you're at it.

Think about it: if I make it, you can all say you "knew me when". I promise to share the perks. :)

01. Make sure the song you sing is dynamic range-wise, but not outside your skillset. Don't overreach.

02. Try to find use a classy song, one that not every teeny-bopper will use. From what I've seen, the judges seem to favor jazzy songs.

03. Relax. Don't take anything they might say too personally, and just be your (delightful) self. It's just an audition -- sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't, and there's always next year. :)

Good luck!! ;)

Thank you so much! That's exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping for. Plus, no making with the fun! You are a good friend.
