Happy Birthday to a lovely lady! Have a great one Mei!

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was as nice as mine. I worked a couple hours this morning at a new store, and I just happen to like this one about ten times more than any other I've worked at. I spent the afternoon lounging, dozing, watching cartoons. Then the love of my life escorted me to the Yosemite Employees' Thanksgiving feast. After reading Aelora's story, I decided to forgo the turkey in favor of vegetarian lasagna. In addition to salad, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and two slices of pie. Oh my goodness. I'm amazed I held that all in. I feel a little queasy just thinking about it. But that pecan pie was really good.
When we finished eating, my husband took my hand and told me all the things he was thankful for. All of which centered around me. Oh, if you knew how wonderful this man is, you'd come try to steal him right now. I tried to tell him how thankful I was just to have him in my life, but I just wound up crying and choking out something like "thanks for putting up with me for so long". I said a few more things, but they all seemed to include the word "naked". I guess that's how I express gratitude?
My better half wanted to stop by the store and get a beer or something after dinner. I hung out in the gift shop, staring at the sparkly things, fondling the fuzzy things, waiting for him. He picked out a Mike's Hard 6-pack. I almost cried again. He's freakin awesome.
Anyway, we sipped Mike's Hard (lemonade -- did I forget to say that last time?) and watched 8 Crazy Nights. And stuff. Good times.
The only thing that could have made today better? Family and friends to share it with. I knew I couldn't go to sleep tonight without at least a little one-sided sharing. I hope you all know how thankful I am to have you as a friend.
