You are one of only three LJ users in Yosemite. I searched users by location as a joke, I can't believe there's even three. I lived/worked there for years. We didn't have anyway to access the internet unless we begged a manager friend who had a cabin with a phonejack. We lived in canvas tents and if it had a heater you were lucky! They were just building those cabins in boystown when I left. How lovely to be sitting atop Glacier on a laptop. Enjoy your time there. Yosemite holds my fondest memories! So are you shlepping pizza's or did you get a decent gig yet?
