Adventures in La-La Land
Where was I? Oh, yeah. How odd, that I choose to spend seven hours of my free time this way...
I get up at six am the next morning. I get ready for work, then find out that the road is closed again/still. I am told that the bus should be here at 7:45. Make that 8:30. No, better make that 9:45. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t have time to go back to sleep. Fine. I’ll run some errands.
Half an hour later, I drop what I’m doing and run after the bus as it drives by me. I cut it off as it reaches the stop. My husband runs over from the post office and barely catches it. He comes bearing packages! Thanks, guys [Aelita, Mouse, Coffee], this was the highlight of my week. We drive at superspeed (that means reeeaaalllyyy slow, right?), and reach the work site around noon. Work is slow and I am nervous, just like all the customers who were too scared to drive up today and keep me busy. The busses leave on time and snail-crawl back down the hill, getting us home only somewhat late. Good thing, because my brother-in-law and his girlfriend drove all the way out here to see us. We’re there to greet them before 9. We should have been in bed already, but what the hey. We’ll play Uno ‘till midnight instead.
